Letter to the Young politician

There is always a pride to have young people representing the government and the local government. Many got the seat in the parliament which showed that Bhutan have always believed in the power of young leadership.
Dear,
Fellow youth, my comrade,

People often say “youth as vigorous, dynamic, energetic, and always a nation builder.” It got huge plus point while in any opportunities we seek. We often hear, “young people are more energetic, lets give them a chance.” The sentence itself is full of sympathy not a real believe that youth actually can-do lot of amazing things. As the country keeps on developing it also keeps on changing, only the youth knows what is the real needs for our fellow youth, the upcoming generation but of course we also need the guidance of the adult.
We are judged, made supposition based on innocence and lack of opportunity. Very true to some point, we lacked the opportunity but in Bhutan the constitution grants us the right so we don’t have to talk about the youth activism.

My highlights

Change your believe system: To be a good politician first change the believe system, we often see politics as dirty. We should know reality and true essence of the gift of the throne. His majesty would not have given the power to its people, if he has no faith and trust. Let’s not look the example of neighboring countries of dirty politics but create our own definition good governance and good politics. Politics is all about bringing harmony in the lives of people. If you are believing that democracy is ugly and politics is dirty, the action goes like you believed. People will lie, make fake promises, misuse the funds and power. It’s about embracing Gross national Happiness. It is why you must believe the holistic system during reign of Zhabdrung and the words of his majesty.

“If the government cannot create happiness (Social Harmony) for its people, there is no purpose for the government to exist”
The 1729 Legal code of Bhutan

“The essence of the philosophy of gross national happiness of our people and the security and sovereignty of the nation” -His majesty Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuk

Build your own profile. Get a higher education, study on the specific ground on which you believe that the country has potential for change for good cause. Give yourself a firm meaning. Tell the people who you are. What you can do. Build experiences. Be an expert.
Make yourself worth: Join politics not because you have lot of supporter or you know lot of people instead let them feel what’s your worth. What is your potential.
Don’t grab opportunity just because you were given. You should also be knowing that are you ready to receive it. Receive it with the believe that you can do?

Politics is to power to be wise: Join politics with full heart of helping the people, making difference in their life. Representing country in the international area. Politics should be purely on humanitarian ground not in quest for misusing power, name and fame. The sole purpose should be human wellness.

Change the view: If you are viewing politics as a job seeking or earning a bread, you cannot do anything even you win 20 years in election. It is just like a government employee, working under some hierarchy. Even if you are as a minister, you will wait for Sundays and government holidays.
I hope anyone who will join politics will work for the benefit of the people rather than personal gain. Lots of student holds different leadership position in schools and colleges, and many on their own ways of being responsible youth, it is the first step you have miles to go. Good luck and best wishes.

Note
The above mentioned is solely on personal believe. No critics to the government, if there are chairwarmer youth in the parliament.
