My reflection Sherubtse “The peak of learning”

It was a longest journey I ever travelled that falls on 21st of June.  A 17 hours journey under the sun and the shining moon  It was so exciting that I finally made it to Sherubtse “a peak of learning” It was a dream come true And a nice welcome by hostel councilors  I was so glad, I enjoyed the all that first days. Until we knew the seniors coming, in the later days The very first word I heard was, “hmm… I feel the smell of juniors”  Some of my friends were worried and afraid with things called ragging and briefing  Wishing it won’t be too harsh on innocent us.  At times we were also excited to experience such thing called briefing One night those drunk seniors came and started to ask us things like name, course and hobbies. I personally find this interesting because they asked me  “what is your hobby” and I said “I love reading”  The next moment he made me to read, from a book by Shev Khera called “you can win”  Thank god though my hobby was reading, it was first time after I finished my class 12 exam.  And first time in college.  They called it briefing I called it revisiting.
At one point I was so annoyed by one of the senior commenting on my two months old beard.  But suddenly I realized the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi, satyagraha, say no to violence.  That’s how I started to learn and correct myself and that’s how I became sherubtsian   The message I want to convey through my personal reflection is Besides all the hardness, all negativities, all injustice learn to be positive.  I know there are things that are indigestible, but try your best to be positive.
Its like  when  you  have  mistakenly  put  more  lemon  juice  in  bottle  of  water,  you  cannot  take  out  the lemon  juice  but  you  can  always put  more  water  to  s often  it. It  is  why  we have  to  retrain  our  mind  in developing  a  habit  of thinking  positive. it  is hard  to  develop  but  easy  to  live. Because You  do  become  what  you  think Next  is  to  develop  an attitude  of learning I know  there  are  great  people and  be  a  great  people passed  out  from  Sherubtse I know  Sherubtse  for  some  is a place  to  drink  and  drunk And  a  college  classes  to  bunk. But  this  may  not  be  a  life  you  want  to  live  after  10  years Which you  may  regret  with  tears And  some  depressed  with  things like  ragging  or  briefing But  keep That yourself lifting Sherubtse  is  a place  to  build  your life Try  to  look  the example  of  great  people   Because great  people  they  don’t  cry They  try To  build  their  dreams Gr eat  people  don’t  give  up not  to  ruin They  live  up  to  the  challenges  that  life throws  on  them. Great  people  don’t  go  through they  grow  through  the  difficulties. Keep in  mind  that  anything  you  do  keep  learning, keep  reading The  more  you  learn  and  work hard  today,  m Because I  believe, ore  you  enjoy  later more you  sweat  in peace  the  less  you  bleed in  war. I know  it ’ s  so far  to  believe  in  my  speech but  keep  in  mind  that  you  are  in a peak  of learning.

Note: This was a speech delivered on youth day 28th August on the theme "safe spaces for youth"
