The REALITY is...
The REALITY is...
I'm just a young man fueled with strength of education. An education that geared me in making a good human. It's challenging for a young man like me with little wisdom to criticize on human attitude. But what I feel is a reality. A reality that's happening to some of us, we, "Bhutanese youth".
Bhutan is know to the outside world for its unique philosophy of GNH. Most of people visualize Bhutan as peace and a religious nation. Yes it's absolutely true that Bhutan is blessed with such heaven on earth. But to tell the reality some of us the youth(nazhoen) are so driven into westernized world that they forget who we actually are. I'm sure some of our youth
~do not know properly to wear kabney or gho.
~a few are there who do not kno how to prostrate when they visit lhakhang.
~Many are there who do not know national anthem or the Jamyang soeldep if they are to sing alone.
~Some of us know so much of English and Hindi songs but very less know dzongkha songs and the least knows the traditional songs (zungdra and boedra)
At times I am not in a position to firmly tell my fellow youth that we lack some of the values that our forefathers have inherited. But as a ideal nation of GNH, its our responsible to uphold such dying values. Values that we new generation need to promote our culture and tradition not changing them.
Bhutan is a religious and a peaceful country but do we really take care of it? Hundreds of chortens have vandalised, drugs and stabbing cases, Rape , suicide are rampant among the youth. I'm worried will the philosophy of GNH be instilled in everyone's mind?
I not a diplomatic person that raises so much of criticism and suggest so many possible answers or ideas.. rather I believe in RETHINKING of our treasured values and coming back to REALITY. Reality of being a real Bhutanese.
Thank you.
